1932 Ohio Art, Mickey & Minnie Mouse Tea Set in Original Box

Scarce 11 piece tin litho Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse "Helpmates" tea set manufactured by Ohio Art complete with original box and insert. On average the entire set grades an amazing near mint-. This means that it's just a few tics from being strictly near mint, but much higher than excellent+. Regardless it's both 1) the highest grade and 2) the only intact 11 piece set with its original box I've seen. It was most likely never used.

Each piece in this set includes Mickey and Minnie "doing things together". The cups also include Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. All are copyrighted "Walt Disney". Here's the break down.

3 - 4" Plates - tin litho with raised orange rims, multicolored lithography showing Minnie washing dishes while Mickey dries. "Helpmates" lithoed around the top edge. "Mickey and Minnie" around the lower edge. Just underneath the sink is "U.S.A.". Reverse side is solid lime green color with flat (rather than glossy) finish.
3 - 2Â½" Saucers - front rims and reverse side are lithoed identically in color as the plates. Center lithoed with Mickey and Minnie dancing over a green and yellow checkerboard floor.
3 - 1Â½" tall Tea Cups - shows eager Minnie, Horace, and Clarabelle seated at one end of a table. The opposite end has a smiling Mickey holding a bucket of oats. The interior and bottom surfaces are polished tin. Each has a ribbon shaped orange metal handle.
1 - 2" tall Tea Pot with lid - stage scene with Minnie at the piano while Mickey dances with cane and straw hat. Also signed Ohio Art. Ribbon handle similar to tea cups. Lid is solid white on top and pink on the underside. Edges are embossed and it has a raised die cut handle in the center.

Box has repetitive images from fairy tales and Mother Goose rhymes in alternating hexagonal patterns. Between them are diamond shaped pattern with different emblematic designs. Printed red. Cover edges reinforced with red, angular metal clips. Box bottom including the underside was printed with identical images (as the cover). Corners reinforced with factory paper tape. Natural color cardboard insert is raised about Â½". Die cuts hold each piece firmly in place.
